Update! Paul McCartney expected to make 'complete recovery'

Thursday, May 22, 2014

Paul McCartney is on the mend, his spokeswoman says. A virus infection forced the former Beatle to cancel his Japan tour and South Korea concert. TheSankei Sports newspaper reports that McCartney, 71, was admitted to a hospital when the infection worsened.

"Paul received successful medical treatment at a hospital in Tokyo," McCartney spokeswoman Perri Cohen told USA TODAY in a statement. "He will make a complete recovery and has been ordered to take a few days rest. Paul has been extremely moved by all the messages and well wishes he has received from fans all over the world." She declined to say whether he remained hospitalized. McCartney's Out There tour is scheduled to resume June 14 in Lubbock, Texas, with stops in Dallas, New OrleansAtlanta, Chicago and Nashville, and wrap up Aug. 14 at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, the site of The Beatles' last official concert in 1966.

So happy that you are feeling better! I was worried, although I try to remain positive for a great outcome. You just need a rest.  You were my first crush when I was 13. Wish you were coming to Knoxville, TN. I did see you in Cleveland, OH back in the 90's. Awesome! Take care of yourself and then Rock On like the Paul we know and love!

I fell in love with you when I was 10. You came to the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh when I was 11, and my mother said I was too young to venture into the city at night. THIS year, 50 years later, I am finally going to see you in Pittsburgh! Be well, and look for me on July 7...I'm hoping for a hug! xoxoxo
