The London club where Paul and Linda McCartney met—and a favorite 60’s hangout for the other Beatles, too—will reopen.

"It was like a social club for The Beatles, they would come down after working in the studio," says Giovanni Baldino, who has worked for over a year to restore the Bag O'Nails in Carnaby Street. "We've kept the same styles and layout. The stage is original, we haven't touched that. If you close your eyes, you can imagine Paul McCartney was sitting there."

The Bag O’Nails will reopen officially in April, with a “soft relaunch” during March.

Rio Celebrates the Beatles - Thursday, February 14, 2013

Upwards of 50,000 revelers in Rio attended the "Sargento Pimenta" ---or Sgt. Pepper in Portuguese, the language of Brazil-- street party during Carnival.  The Beatles-themed celebration is one of more than 400 raucous street parties that spring up throughout Rio de Janeiro during Carnival season.
The party was the idea of Dr. Gustavo Gitelman, who gathered a large group of fans last year. The group gives the Beatles repertoire a Brazilian tweak, adapting "All My Loving" to the peppy beat of a traditional Carnival "marchinha," or march, and infusing "Hard Day's Night" with a Rio funk sound. "I Want to Hold Your Hand" morphs into a samba. Even "Hey Jude" is spiked with an infectious upbeat energy.

All the songs are sung in English, much to the delight of English-speaking visitors, many of whom can fully participate in the bloco experience for the first time.

The group's debut last year was so successful that the crowd was packed so tight it became something of a health hazard. It moved to a more spacious location this ye details

Says Marr: “I got him to play ‘Things We Said Today’, and I think we played some Wings stuff. ‘C-Moon’, I remember.  That was fun. He and I were singing harmonies on ‘I Saw Her Standing There’ – that was a pretty good moment, too. I was only 23, maybe 24.”

Marr says of George: “George Harrison has always been one of my favorite guitar players, and his approach to the song and creating little parts and moments in records is more something that I can relate to, and along the lines of how I see myself, sure. Out of respect to the guitar greats who came out of the blues rock boom in the 60s, you have to hold your hands up and show details

Adele Rehearsing in Former McCartney Home - Monday, February 11, 2013

Multi-award winner Adele is practicing for her performance at the Oscar ceremony at Paul McCartney’s old house in India, according to the Sun UK.

The 24 yr-old British singer is up for an Academy Award for co-writing “Skyfall” for the latest James Bond film, and will perform the song before a worldwide audience.

The 24-year-old, said to be battling stage fright, is paying 47,000 pounds a month to rehearse in the house.

"Adele is really nervous about her Oscars performance, so decided against staying in a hotel where there would be lots of people around. The property's up in the hills so guarantees her privacy," a source said.

"And what better place to get musical inspiration than an ex-Beatle's home," the source added.

Paul Mc Cartney serenaded unsuspecting street car passengers in New Orleans during his Carnivale visit.  Paul, accompanied by wife Nancy and a security guard, hopped aboard a street car—where most passengers mistook him for a street performer.  Some even threw money to him.

The UK’s Daily Star quotes 49 year-old commuter Robert Senft, who said: “This guy got on the street car and started singing Beatles’ songs. Everyone was just ignoring him really because there are a lot of buskers in this town. Then we realised it was Sir Paul McCartney and we were just in shock. He started singing along with the whole carriage and taking pictures. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. One of the best days of my life.”
