George Harrison memorial garden opens to the public
- Wednesday, May 29, 2013

The George Harrison Memorial Garden at the Bhaktivedanta Manor Estate near Watford is now open to the public.

The Beatle – who passed away in 2001 – gave the site, formerly known as Piggots Manor, to the International Society for Krishna Consciousness in 1973 after becoming a follower of the Hare Krishna religion. Following Harrison's death, a garden was created in his remembrance. His widow Olivia Harrison said: "I am grateful to the devotees for honouring George in the form of a garden. A manifestation in the material world of which he would be very proud."

Olivia and gardener Monty Don will both attend the garden's official opening. Don commented: "I am delighted and honoured to open the garden commemorating George Harrison at Bhaktivedanta Manor and that the public will be able to share George's great love of gardening and deep spirituality."

Little remains unknown about the Beatles – they're one of the world's greatest rock and roll bands and have likely been photographed more times than Bieber and Britney combined.

But now Ringo Starr is unveiling more than 100 never-before-seen images of the Fab Four that he took during their '60s prime.

- Friday, May 31, 2013

A Beatles-themed Yellow Submarine car is set to catch the eye in the return of what's billed as the world's wackiest road race.

The Red Bull Soapbox Race is back this year after a nine-year break, and Londoner Carl White is hoping to make a mark with his yellow submarine design. Today Carl was test driving the car around some of London's most famous landmarks, including Westminster and Abbey Road.

Concert review: Paul McCartney amazes at Tulsa's BOK Center - Friday, May 31, 2013

“And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.” — The Beatles, “The End”

TULSA — Well before the end, it was clear that Sir Paul McCartney was taking and making plenty of love at the BOK Center Thursday night.

Whether he was conjuring romance with his tender new ballad “My Valentine,” pulling out all the stops on a rowdy Beatles classic like “Back in the U.S.S.R.” or sending one out to the Wings fans, baby, we were amazed. No maybe about it.

The Beatles 50 Years Ago Today :

Saturday, June 1, 1963-

BBC Paris Studio, London and Granada Cinema, Mitcham Rd. Tooting, London

Another hectic day for the Beatles eight hours inside a BBC radio studio followed by two separate "House" at the Tooting Granada with the Roy Orbison package tour.

The BBC session was for both the second and third editions in their own series "Pop Go The Beatles". Curiously, Program 3 was taped first, between 9:30 am and 1:30 pm, Number 2 was then recorded between 1:30 and 5:30. (A rehearsal element was included in these timings). The Beatles' guests in Program 3 were Carter-Lewis and the Southerners, and in Program 2 the Countrymen.
